This painting was made in 2014 when I learned I would soon become a father.
I intended to translate in this painting the energy that my future son (James) will need in his life to grow up. Growing up as a child is not only becoming tall and smart, this means growing up in the right way = as trees may do: following the light. The light of the sun of self-responsibility, the mindset of a knight, and kindness to other humans (as far as they are full of virtue).
Today the canvas is hung on the wall of my son’s bedroom. I will explain to him later on what are the two white suns that the branches are grabbing.
